Clubs at Deanshanger

At Deanshanger Primary School we believe extra-curricular activities play a very important role in the life of the pupil and the school. We therefore offer a variety of clubs for our students to join and enjoy both at lunchtimes and after school.  In addition, many of our students also learn a musical instrument.

Once the children have joined a club they are expected to attend regularly. If they wish to leave a club, then a written note from a parent/carer must be handed to the teacher in charge.

Some of the clubs only run at certain times of the year. Please see the teacher in charge for more details.

The following clubs are run by outside agencies and a fee is charged to participate in the club.

The following clubs are run by members of staff therefore, there are no fees.
Most of these clubs are continuing from last term. However, the teacher running the club will keep children up to date with when the club will take place. If the club is new, the teacher running it will send out letters for children to sign up. If your child would like to join a club please speak to the appropriate teacher.

The school council help plan special events in the school such as termly house events, discuss issues such as green school projects, have initiated year 6 prefects and help with whole school improvement. They are currently asking fellow class members their thoughts on what makes an outstanding school. These views will be built into the school’s improvement plan.
