Safeguarding Children

Our prime responsibility as a school is to ensure that all children in it are safe. Safeguarding can be defined as ‘The process of protecting children from abuse or neglect, preventing impairment of their health and development, and ensuring that they  are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care that enables children to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully'. School obviously plays a very important role here.

Deanshanger Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children in our care. Our procedures and policies supporting this include –
Safeguarding, Behaviour, E-Safety, Allegation, Data Protection and Children with Medical Conditions.

Copies of these policies can be obtained from the school office and are downloadable from the policy page of the website. Safeguarding posters are also displayed prominently around the school.

If you have concerns about the safety or well-being of any child, you can contact the members of staff with designated responsibility

Mrs Rachel Rice – Head teacher
Mrs Sarah Webb – Deputy Head teacher / Year 6 teacher
Mrs Julie Hammond – SENCo
