Y6 African Mask Making and Dance
On Monday 3rd February, the two year 6 classes had a special African mask making and dance day. They used acrylic paint to create a dotty, symmetrical pattern on the wooden masks provided. After they had dried, they did a dance warm up, followed by learning a traditional African dance using the masks to authentic music. Later in the afternoon, parents/carers were invited to come in and enjoy the final performance. It was performed in class groups first and then as a year group. Our parents enjoyed the dance and we all really enjoyed the day as it was so different.
