It has been a particularly wonderful couple of weeks in school with so many extra events enriching school life. In our assembly this afternoon, we spent the first part sharing our favourite moments in school and it was so lovely to hear the moments that stood out for the children eg, the ice skating show, their performances, bikeability, learning new songs, Angels at the Abbey, hosting a group of older members of our community for a Christmas lunch, school trips and working hard as a team. There are still concerts and special events to come next week too!
The Year 2 and Year 3 concert was beautiful and definitely put us all in the Christmas spirit! The ever-growing confidence was great to see. We then had the Y1 concert and again, I was blown away by their ability to learn so many songs and words! Next week it's the turn of the Reception classes with their school concert and Y4,5 and 6 at Holy Trinity Church. The times are below in the calendar section.
Two weeks ago we had the PTA movie night which was well attended and a lot of fun. Big thanks to all members of the PTA for setting up such magical opportunities. We were particularly excited to see Santa. A full gallery of photos will be uploaded in the coming days. I do apologise for the slow handover at the end of the movie - the darkness made it very tricky and hence we had to quickly consider a Plan B! Thank you for your patience and understanding.
The ice skating show trip yesterday marked quite a big step forward for us as it was obviously the first such whole school opportunity since COVID days! The school was locked up and every single person here headed off to enjoy the show. It was even more special to see the talents of one of our current pupils - River, and a former pupil - Sophie. They both skated brilliantly.
Adding to the excitement of next week, we have our Christmas lunch day, the Christmas Shop and further opportunities to wear our Christmas jumpers!
