Safeguarding and Mental Health Awareness Week
Keeping our children safe online is super important. At Deanshanger, we take several steps to make sure our children can enjoy the internet safely while they're at school. Here’s how we do it:
Smart Filters: We use smart internet filters to block any inappropriate websites. This way, the classes can only access safe, educational content.
Digital Safety Lessons: Our students learn about online safety as part of their regular class computing lessons. We teach them about privacy, the dangers of sharing personal info, and how to deal with cyberbullying (according to their age).
Supervised Browsing: All staff keep a close eye on children when they're online. Whether they’re using computers or tablets, there’s always someone watching them closely to ensure they are safe and using the equipment for the intended activity.
We believe in working together: On the school website, there are lots of resources and tips for you as parents to help you keep your children safe online at home, too. In addition, we work closely with families when advice is requested or when, unfortunately, challenges have been faced with internet use - this is most often in regard to social media platforms used outside school.
If you have any questions or need more info, feel free to reach out.
If you have any safeguarding concerns at any time, please be sure to pass them on.
